Investment

As with any form of higher education or professional development, learning Yoruba is an investment. This may seem like a hefty investment, but can you put a price on connecting deeply with your family? Gaining your grandmother’s wisdom? Having the full pride of your Yoruba identity?

To learn at a university, you will pay anywhere from 300 to 1500 per credit hour. To cover the content that YCI covers, you might pay $2000 or more for a group class. You could spend months searching for a Yoruba teacher on your own but there is no guarantee that they will have a structured curriculum or even be great at instruction. We personally guarantee the efficacy of our instruction to students who make the investment in time and money.*

Sibling Discount

We understand that if you don’t speak Yoruba, there’s a good chance your siblings don’t either. If you gather your siblings together for an existing course, we can provide you with a group discount depending on the number of siblings. Email us for more info.

Payment Options

We accept all forms of payment including credit card, check, PayPal, Venmo and Square.

One on One tutorial

We recommend a minimum of six months of study (72 hours) to reach strong conversational proficiency. In order to make that easier for you, we cut you a break in monthly payments if you sign up for six months and enroll in automatic payments or pay in advance.  With auto payments you will save $60 per month and with a one time payment, you save $100 per month.

An example with a student who takes 10 hours per month of tutorial:

Monthly pay as you go: $500 per month

Auto payments: $440 per month ($360 savings)

One time payment: $2400 one time ($600 savings)

Summer Immersion Intensive

The application fee is paid at the time of registration and counts towards the tuition balance of 1200. Students are required to pay the full balance or set up recurring payments for the balance before the course begins (usually two weeks before). There is a $50 administration fee for splitting payments.

All Other Courses

Payment must be received by cut off date (usually one week before class begins unless otherwise specified).

*Money back guarantees apply to 8-week students who complete the course (missing no more than two classes) and have real concerns of the instructor that are not addressed in the course of the 8 weeks. One on One students can obtain a partial refund after the first month if not satisfied with the instructor’s knowledge. One on One students who complete the 72 hour requirement and do not reach a conversational level proficiency can obtain a partial refund. In both cases, the student must communicate these concerns as early as they become an issue in order to allow us to address the concerns before a refund can be issued.
