Decoding Yoruba: Episode 2 (Fola Abiala)

A new episode of Decoding Yoruba is now up on our Youtube channel! The series explores Yoruba identity and the language through the eyes of young Yoruba professionals living in the Diaspora and teaches about the language and the people that make up this culture that we are so proud of.

In the second episode, Beninese Yoruba musician and instructor Fola Abiala discusses the importance of knowing where you come from; and introduces to us his favorite Yoruba proverb, “Omode gbon, agba gbon, la fi to Ile-Ife.” He also provides some critical advice to Yoruba learners.
