One on One tutorial is ideal for you if
- You are in the Tri-State area, but our location is out of reach
- Your schedule does not allow consistent attendance in our Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday or Saturday classes.
- You need a crash course (ie preparing for a trip to Nigeria or for your wedding) and want to have several hours per week of instruction. (We’ve had students do up to 25 hours of Yoruba instruction per week.)
- You would like to have more input on what your curriculum includes. Maybe you want to focus less on language and more on tradition/culture/history.

One of our native-speaker instructors will work with you in your home or office on a schedule that works for you. We require a 4-hour per week minimum for in-person instruction, each session must be at least 2 hours.
Please review Tuition & Fee information before registering.
For less than 4 hours per week, we recommend taking your one-on-one tutorial online via Skype. This allows for much more flexibility in terms of scheduling, as the minimum session length for online classes is 60 minutes. You can select this option below under Tutorial Location.
For the online class, please ensure you have adequate technology, a strong internet connection and working video/ audio on your computer. Once registered we will provide instructions for meeting with your teacher online.
If needed, an initial assessment may be used to place you in advanced or beginner level course, and may be administered before your sessions.
++Africans in the Diaspora who are interested in learning their native languages (other than Yoruba) should contact firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the language that you would like to learn in order to receive information when teachers become available.++
